March 14 -18

 I hope everyone had a good long weekend! Grade 6 Construction students were working hard to complete their building phase of their projects so that they can can complete their wooden toys before the end of term and spring break.  It was pandemonium.  Grade 7 to 9 Construction students were working hard to complete the planning phase of their project and calculate their materials  so that they may start building after spring break. We are getting excited to begin the building phase of our projects.  Grade 9 Electrotechnology Students have officially started creating robots with their new teams complete the Ultimate Battle Bot Challenge Extravaganza!!! There first task is to autonomously escape a trap to join the competition.  Next, teams will be rewarded points for popping balloons in the play area and finally teams will be given bonus points re-entering the starting area. 

March 7-10

 Updates: Grade 6 Construction students are completing their plans for their wooden toys so that they may begin building as early as possible.  Many have already begun the building phase. Next week all students will begin building to ensure completion before term change.  Grade 7 to 9 Construction students are working hard to complete their ideation and move on to create an orthographic projection.  They may also be working through the skill building modules in preparation for beginning their woodworking projects. Grade 9 Electrotechnology We have wrapped up our first robotics challenge.  Each team student was able to create robots that performed the task some of the time. Those that stood out were able to create robots that could reliably perform the task under a variety of circumstances. Well done!
